Text enquiries fall into four categories - please jump straight to the category that interests you:

Permissions
We receive many requests from publishers, charities and other organizations for permission to reproduce our material in books, magazines, brochures and newsletters, for publication in both Print-based and Internet-based formats. Requests usually take a minimum of two weeks to process. Permission is not unreasonably withheld provided that the text is not altered or abridged in a way that would change the general tone or context of the article, or damage the author's integrity.

Spot Sales
We grant licences to both UK and overseas newspapers and magazines to reproduce material. Reproduction fees are dependent on the length of the article, exclusivity and circulation.

Photocopying
Internal usage (e.g. for internal management purposes, schools, colleges and universities) If you want to photocopy material for internal information purposes you need to apply for a licence from the Newspaper Licensing Agency.

News Services
Our two popular news services (available by electronic subscription only) offer newspapers and magazines from around the world the chance to share with their readers the distinguished writing of Guardian and Observers journalists.
