Nick Raynsford, the minister for planning and housing, has asked us to point out, in connection with our report, £120m stadium to be built next to incinerator, April 25, page one, that he is no longer minister for London. He has not had anything to do with any application for an extension of incinerator facilities in Edmonton. In our leader, Death of a journalist, page 19, yesterday, we described Mr Lopez de la Calle, aged 62, as a "communist jailed by Franco's forces during the civil war ..." We meant to say during General Franco's dictatorship. The Spanish civil war started in 1936, before Mr Lopez de la Calle was born. General Franco, on the other hand, remained in power until his death in 1975. In our report, Scientists race to beat DNA patents, page 9, yesterday, we gave the impression that DNA was made up of four acids. We should have said four bases. The annual conference of the Association of University Teachers, page 9, Education, yesterday, is at Eastbourne, not Bournemouth. Homophone corner, from a caption to the picture with our obituary of Gino Bartali, page 20, yesterday, "He was often urged on by children singing canticles as he peddled past."
